Majuli-World’s largest freshwater Island is a lush green pristine, environment-friendly tourist spot in North-East. It is an Island in Brahmaputra River. It is located 20 km away from Jorhat city. The total area covered by this island is 1250 sq.km. Tourists from all over the world hail to this destination round the year. This happens to be one of the surreal places in India. This place is inhabited by Tribals and the culture is quite unique and interesting. It is also known as the cultural capital of Assam. The festivals celebrated here are vibrant and joyous. The main festival of Majuli town is known as Raas. When you visit this island during summer make sure that you carry sun fighters. If you forget it, that will be very difficult to tolerate the heat there.
